I was looking in on of my old closets, and found an old camera that I had a long time ago. My husband calls it a "Toy Camera" It is a Yamasheta, he says that it is a Rangefinder. I like using the little camera because it it not heavy. I have MS and take most of my photos from my wheelchair. I use one of my husband's Nikon's but those are so heavy, and I have a neck strap. He uses a Leica. My dad has an old camera that he got in Germany when he was in the Army 100 years ago. All I know is that it is a rangefinder, and he is going to let me use it. But is this Yamasheta a decent camera, I kinda like it. I am interested in your feedback. Thx

Hi smomdukes, and welcome! I don't know anything about your camera, but inexpensive/toy cameras can be great fun and provide interesting results. If you decide to try it, come back and post some pictures!

I can tell you one thing for sure - if I found an old camera in the closet, and it looked functional, I'd give it a try! I'd also take my husband's (or wife's in my case) Leica and Nikons and use them when he (she) wasn't looking :D.

I'm guessing that it has a plastic lens, used 35mm film, and has a couple of settings for cloudy and sun?

If so, it will give results like Instamatics and Box cameras that has served well for generations.

If you want something with a better lens and like to shoot film, MOST of the higher quality point and shoot cameras can be bought for pennies on the dollar these days. A Nikon Litetouch is small, light, automatic, and has a great lens. Lots to choose from these days.

in fact, a Leica Mini can probably be found for not-too-much these days. Then tell your husband that he can't use it.

I just might do that, because I am not allowed to use the Leica. But when I get my dads old camera, he will not be allowed to use it, and I know he will want to because it is a rangefinder. Thank you guys for your input. When I finish the roll of film I have in my
"Toy Camera" I will post them. Thx
