Hi!

I keep reading that some ttl meters have troubles with red and orange filters. Does anybody here have experience how the G2 metering behaves with red filters? I use a B+W (x5) red, but have shot too little to draw conclusions yet.

Cheers,
Peter

I've never run into a problem with this, but the gear is older.

Silicon Photosensors pick up Infrared, and require a Cut-Off filter to be placed over it. I suspect some filters might cut into RED. My Nikon N8008s with the IR digital back does not have a problem. Only way to find out is to try it, and bracket the first roll.

Cheers, Brian! I will keep track on my next rolls.

My experience is that different manufacturer's have slightly different filter factors for the red. I always use B%W filters since I find them very consistent across the board. I saw your pics from Argentina and you will find this filter very effective at high altitudes. I find it serves me better to adjust ASA than to add additional exposure. One of my favorite countries!

Any luck on the filter adapter for the T3?

Hi!
Yes, I found an adapter for the T3! I will only use a skylight (in altitude) and yellow filter on it. I use almost exclusively B+W too, with the same factor of yellow filter on G2 and T3.

Argentina, yes. So many great memories. It has been ages since I have been there. I hopt to return someday.

Cheers!
Peter

Glad you got it. FYI if you need other filters for the T3 do a search on Rollei 35 SE filters. Made by Rolleiflex and the same size.

Hi!
I have shot more with the G2 in the meanwhile, and had good luck (TTL metering) with yellow filter (2x), but varying results with red (5x). As a result, I started using 2x yellow almost exclusively, a good allround filter for me. Might leave the red at home (read: sell) the red filters, and get some green or blue.
T3 with same B+W yellow filter yielded excellent results so far as well. I use a 30.5mm to 46mm filter converter currently, but yes, the Rollei 35SE filters would work on the T3, as far as I know.

Cheers,
Peter
