Hi!
On my ongoing search for a good small digital camera with Zeiss lens I keep considering m4/3, but I am a bit puzzled which lenses will fit, particularly which high-aperture tele lenses.
I came across the Zeiss 135 f2.8 contax c/y mount lens the other day, and was wondering if that fits not only 4/3 but also m4/3 cameras
Thanks,
Peter

I believe that lens will fit micro 4/3 but not 4/3. It would be an effective 270mm focal length.

The Contax/Yashica SLR mount should be Okay with 4/3 and Micro 4/3. I found an adapter on Ebay for 4/3, and another for micro 4/3.

This one specifically states the Leica Digilux 3:

Micro 4/3 adapter:

I wish Olympus and the others could have come up with less confusing names for the two systems. Add Contax to that list!
The Old Contax Rangefinder Mount lenses and Nikon S-Mount lenses can be used with micro 4/3, but not 4/3.

The general rule is: if something will fit a 4/3 camera, it will fit a micro 4/3. That's because the the distance from the mount to the sensor is smaller in micro 4/3 cameras.
Interestingly, besides m4/3 (and now NEXX), 4/3 mount has the shortest register of the dslr world, and thus allows the greatest variety of third party 35mm SLR lenses to be used - even challenging lenses like Konica AR lenses and Minolta MD mount. Not LTM lenses though - for that, you'll have to go to M4/3 (or NEXX).

Since this post, I pickled up two EP2's. Bought one, traded for the another.
I have been using Leica mount lenses almost all the time.

What Leica-mount lenses do you find most useful? I have an E-P1 and love the 17mm and 14-42mm native lenses, and have a range of SLR lenses, but have not explored the rangefinder lenses. I was hoping that a compact (pancake) fast 40-50mm lens would be great, but the LTM lenses all seem to be physically long.
