Hi all,
Newb here.
I don`t actually have a J-3 in my collection yet but can anyone supply me with the length and width(at both ends) of a J-3? I recently got a supply of old FSU lens containers and have several that, I suspect, fit the J-3.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Next time I have one out, I'll use the ruler on it. But they are roughly 2" in diameter, and maybe 2.5"~3" in length. The J-12 case is bigger than a J-3 case, but works fine.

Odd, those containers that I have are a bit wider: for a Contax J-3 maybe?

I measured the J-3, it is 48mm in diameter, and about the same in depth. With caps, a little longer. On the camera, extends 40mm w/o filter or cap.
Your cases might be for the J-12, but I use them with the J-3 anyway. The J-12 is bigger in both dimensions.

That`s exactly what I was looking for: thanks man!

Just out of curiosity, what do you charge to do a CLA and close focus lens mod on a J-3?
I`m in the market.

I usually charge $25+return shipping. Sometimes these lenses are a "can of worms", and this is a hobby of mine. Most of the J-3's are good with changing the shim, most can use a lube for the helical. Some need the helical reset into the focus mount for infinity focus.
I take lenses "on request", with the understanding that this is a kitchen table operation.
