I have this lens and it has had many hard years of use. I can tell you that it's very sharp but can flare somewhat. I found that the filter quality and the multi-coating quality of the filter can make a difference. I ended up with a Hoya multi-coated filter I use as a protection. I am not prepared to use no protection because the lens gets used for many different types of shots in a variety of locations. If you do not need a filter than you'll get the least flare when pointed in the direction of the light source (the sun). This is my go to lens and I am very glad I bought it. I'm sure you will have many years of stunning quality images from it.

No problem.
If you want to be floored, look for the Planar 100 f2. Zeiss make some great lenses.
I only found one of my Zeiss lenses for Contax disappointing, all the others I love.
