Where do Zeiss folders fit on this forum?

Zeiss Folding Rangefinders...

There are two possible now: Classic Zeiss, pre-1973, OR the Classic Contax. So many of the components are re-used from the Contax in the RF and othemechanisms of the folder.

Amin: a Folding Rangefinder forum might also make sense.

I would second a 'Zeiss Folder' forum...

I just picked up a Ikonta 521/2 with an uncoated Novar-Anastigmat f4,5 10.5cm lens.

Hi there, nice to know another Folding cam user.
I also using folding cam. Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/16.
Since this cam run on Medium Format, why not put it under Contax and Zeiss Medium Format column. I did a thread there.

Zeiss Ikon folding RF does not exhaust the field as Zeiss Ikon had many (ultimately too many) folding plate film cameras and non-rf A good overview can be found here:

Of course there were numerious folders that at a Zeiss Tessar lens as a high end option.

Well Zeiss folders would fit in all three of those forums; does that dilute the category and make it hard to post and find threads on the subject?

So if we move Zeiss Folding Cameras (http://ziforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=40) to 'Other Categories' instead of 'Rangefinder Photography', can we get rid of any of those other categories?

I think that would work. There was (or is) a UK folder forum that petered out but I think there is enough interest to earn a corner on this forum. I have some original manuals scanned (some from the web some I own) if anyone is looking for something let me know. Actually I always like to accumulate emphemra and have some early Contax manuals and brochures. Is their a place to upload files like that?

I can change the attachment permissions so that they can be attached to forum posts here. Are they PDF files?

Is there an easy and cross platform way to enum sub-folders in folder? I am now using FindFile from windows.h which is NOT a c way of doing it and is NOT cross platform

Various but I can turn most files into pdf if that works best

That would be the easiest. Alternatively, you could zip them and I could enable zip file attachments for you.

Just attempted to attach a manual for the Zeiss Ideal but the current pdf size limit is not very practical. After reducing size to the max it still is a 223kb file
