I'm sure I'll regret this. But my Fixed-Lens RF's just do not get much use.

This is a Canonet QL17l, for "luxury" in a "Panda" finish. I bought a Black Ql17l and discovered it was jammed and someone else mucked it up trying to repair it. So I put the top and bottom plate on a chrome QL17l.

The Ql17l is the model that preceded the GIII. Main difference is it does not have the battery check light, but uses the meter needle as a check. The shape of the rewind knob is flat, not tapered. And- it is Made in Japan, made a little heavier, less plastic parts than the GIII.

This camera has some brassing and some scratches, including on on the shutter ring. It functions perfectly, and the lens is VERY good for a Canonet. Better than most, not quite as good as the Konica S2. I cherry-picked 10 Canonet QL17 GIII's to get one with a lens that is this good.

I just checked the meter, and the battery is good. Only problem I've had is putting in a new battery- it required some turning of the battery and cleaning the contacts. Remember, that on a Canonet that turning the camera to Manual Operation, ie off of auto, turns the meter off and stops battery drain.

$135 shipped in the US via priority mail, $155 overseas via Global Priority. This is too heavy for first class. I will NEVER trust surface mail again. I received a Canon P sent via surface mail that looked like it was in a Soccer Match. It was the ball. Front Cap, Filter, and strap included.

I cleaned the VF and put new seals in this camera.

Some photo's with this Canonet.

Williamsburg, Virgina. Last Easter.

First two are wide-open at F1.7, third is using auto-exposure.
