I bought two CZJ 5cm F2 Sonnars that had heavy cleaning marks on the front element. I've used polishing sheets before with a heavily damaged -as in opaque- Summicron with good results, and wanted to try it on the Sonnars. I polished the front element down, and coated it with an eye-glass repair kit. It is the equivalent of a soft "drip coating", and seals the glass. My "home-coated" Summicron is going on a couple of years now.
The Caveot is: keep a filter over the front element, and do not use a liquid cleaner on it. I will include a color filter on it for protection, and a homeade rear cap.
This lens is mounted in a single-helical J-8. The coupling is good. I relubed it, and it is quite smooth. The lens is great for portraits. "soft and almost glows" at F2, and is quite good at F4.
$85 shipped in the US via First Class Mail, $90 overseas via first class international. (The second one sold on RFF for much more than this recently.)
