Inspired by Brian's lens hacking exploits, I just finished building a Contax G 45mm Planar for a Nikon rangefinder. I modified a Jupiter 8 base and turned several pieces of aluminum to mount the Planar lens element assembly in the base. I've confirmed it has accurate focus. Initial test shots show that it is marginally sharper than my beloved f1.4 50mm Nikkor. I have posted some snaps to show all of the parts before assembly and the completed lens (//rcbooth.zenfolio.com/p631965788).

Wow!
Why not put some of the Photo and Instuctions over here!

Brian, I can't - I was told I can't post a URL until I've made five posts! I tried to cheat by not including the "http:" and was able to post my partial link. The photos in the link aren't great; have to learn how to take better close-ups.
You're my inspiration and hero!

The forum was getting hit by Spam, Spam, Spam, and Spam. Amin enacted some safeguards for curtailing it, and the 5 post limit was one of them. It has been effective on cutting down on Spam.
You can always pop over to other threads to "say Hello". 3 more posts to go!

I thought of five quick posts but that's almost like spam. After this one I've only got two to go. I'll spend some time this evening or tomorrow putting something more complete together.

Wow! What a conversion... have you made your 5 post limit so you can post the details here yet?

The five post limit has been removed now that spam has calmed down.

This is awesome! We need such adapters for LTM/M. Would it be possible to do, in your opinion?
