Hi, I'm dunk from Cambridgeshire UK and some of you may know me from the Leica Users' Forum. I've recently acquired a used Contax 137 MA and a NOS 50/1.4 Planar. These were purchased after finding a bargain priced 60/2.8 Planar AE for which I have a four thirds adaptor. I'm thinking of getting an RTS ... the original RTS was an ambition many years ago but I'm wondering if they are still worth buying after 30 years from a reliability point of view? ... Would I be better off getting an RTS II or III ?

Thanks for reading

Cheers

dunk

Are u not happy with the 137A? The problem with RTSs are they are very old by now. RTS II would be a good buy but it does not have spot metering and flash syn is 1/60 (if I can remember correctly). RTS III though full of state of the art features, it does has its problems like fading LCD display, worn rewind gear etc, so it would be good if u can get from somebody u know.

In terms of reliability, the Aria is the most reliable Contax money can buy.
