Hello
After a long absence as a Zeiss user I have finally returned to the fold and acquired a ZI Rangefinder body and a 35mm f2 Biogon.
A goodly number of years back, like an idiot, I sold my Contax G2 with its lovely Zeiss lenses having "gone digital". Big mistake, I really miss that camera and particularly its set of Zeiss lenses (21mm, 28mm, 45mm and 90mm).
I also have found that I missed real photography (if I can be forgiven for calling it that) using a proper film camera, and using a rangefinder camera in particular. I have rediscovered that simple country where you sling a camera with a prime lens attached over your shoulder, stick a handful of film in your pocket, and go out and make photographs. It is liberating.
So I am now in the process of building a small ZI outfit and will, when funds allow, add two other lenses - a 21mm and an 85mm.
Finally never again will I be suborned into selling anything with Carl Zeiss written on the front of it. In the words of Samwise Gamgee, the Hobbit "Well, I'm back".

zi + 35/2 biogon = a killer combo!!
nice choice and i agree about adding a 21, i love my 21/4.5 zm, so nicec and small and incredibly sharp. i hope to add the 85/4 when it's available and funds allow.

Welcome back to real photography. Today I was using a Canon 7 and a Leica M2 at a park in Richmond, photographing some newborn goats with the 90 tele-elmarit. Got a "People still use rolls of film?" Just responded with "Yes, I do. Don't even get me started."

hi all, just joined. recently i sold a variety of leica and hexanon lenses to fund switching to just these zm's: 25/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.5 for an m8 and the 50/2 on a film m. i appreciate the image quality, of course, but also the consistency of handling. very happy so far.

Hi guys! And greetings from winterly Finland! It's no less than -20C outside. Joined this forum only a moment ago. Back in B&W film again after a decade of digital photography! A brand new ZI-body with a CV 50/1,5 really makes this familyman feel like a school boy again. I still have my EOS 7D mainly for shooting with flash.

Where are you located? If it is out of warranty, I would suspect a local shop could adjust the RF.
I do not own a ZM. Most of my older RF's are easy to adjust.
Does anyone have a link on adjusting the ZM?

belgium, sending to germany will not be so painful, i asked already here in some shops - they say they can send it to distributor (who will send it to germany probably).
there is a guide how to adjust the rangefinder but I won't try it:

A Contax II would look good next to a Contaflex...
I'm going to have to get a Contaflex.

200 film...I wish I had used the 400 film instead...I didn't think my Nikon FE performed as well as my Contaflex yesterday but then again it's the first time I have ever used it and I don't know much to begin with...
I may ultimately have to buy a ZM to outperform my ancient Contaflex!!! lol

The Nikkor lenses are going to be higher contrast, and can blow the highlights in direct sun, and lose shadow detail when compared with the older German optics of the Contaflex.
What lens do you have on the FE? Feel free to ask Nikon questions here. I have SIXTY or so of them, and even more Nikkor lenses...
