Certain features are now restricted to members with at least five forum posts. This is to keep spammers (who rarely make five or more posts) from posting links or sending emails and private messages to our members. To further reduce the risk of spam, members can also choose not to receive emails and/or PMs at all.

Amin, I think that will help. It's ashame that spammers pollute forums like this. I wonder why they think it improves their business. All I do is note them, and avoid them.

Just to update this, members with less than 5 posts can now PM other members. Amin removed the restriction to aid the For Sale Section.

All in all- Spamming seems to have slowed down with some of the other restrictions in place.

Had a recent problem with PM spam, so now I've reverted to allowing PMs only after 2 or more forum posts.

The ability to post links is now unrestricted. Sending PM/Email is still limited to members with at least 2 posts.

I just one-touch-banned-and-cleaned a new spammer. They seem to come among about once a week.
