Hi -

I currently own a D700 with ZF 2/100. I have a ZF 2/35 on the way.

Question #1: Does manual focus confirmation (green dot?) work with these lenses?

Question #2: Having never tried/paid attention to manual focus confirmation, can someone tell me how this works?

Thanks in advance!
Ashok

Well, my Nikon Digital Cameras are older- but focus confirmation works with my Manual Focus Nikkors and various third-part lenses. Arrows are used to indicate which direction to move the focus ring. When the lens is in focus, the dot in the middle comes on.

Thanks Brian - I just figured it out :) thats a cool feature, I wonder how accurate it is..

I have "only" a D200 and the green dot is very accurate. I suppose it is even better on a D700. You need some practice with it, but after some time you can focus really fast.

I've used the focus confirmation for macro shots of camera repairs when I did not feel like putting my regular glasses back on. It's accurate!

I can't wait to get home to try it out with the ZF lens :)

It is so accurate..It gets extremely sharp :)

Is there any way to make it beep?

Hi,

Forum newbie. Am considering a 35mm f/2. KatzEye has yet to release a split screen. This is very valuable information.

Hello Forum Newbie!

Which 35/2 are you getting.

I use a factory AI converted 35/2 Nikkor-O. I always felt the new formulations lost more than just an element...

hey I just got a Zeiss ZF 2/35 - If you have a D700 there is no need for a screen :) Focusing is damn easy.....

Its very easy to get very very sharp images with the ZF 100 and 35 (the ones I have).

As a matter of fact, even if your focus is a bit off - its sometimes still acceptably sharp because at the optimal sharpness, its almost too sharp (if this makes sense to you).
